Early Learning
At SCCS, we believe the first five years of a child’s life are crucial for their growth and development. Preschool provides a rich foundation for lifelong learning and helps children develop important skills that set them up for success in school and beyond.
Why Preschool Matters
Research shows that the early years are critical for brain development. The experiences children have between birth and age five shape how they think, learn, and grow. Our program focuses on nurturing young minds, fostering curiosity, and building a love for learning in a safe, supportive and faith-based environment. By engaging in purposeful play, hands-on activities, and social interactions, children gain confidence, resilience, and a sense of wonder that will guide them throughout their academic journey.
What Your Child Will Learn
Our curriculum is designed to stimulate all areas of a child’s development:
- Social-Emotional Skills: Through group play and activities, children learn how to express their feelings, cooperate with others, and resolve conflicts in healthy ways.
- Cognitive Skills: From problem-solving challenges to interactive lessons, children will develop critical thinking and early math and literacy skills.
- Language Development: Through songs, storytelling, and interactive conversations, children expand their vocabulary and communication skills.
- Motor Skills: Both fine and gross motor skills are enhanced through creative activities like drawing, cutting, dancing, and playing with various materials.
- Creativity and Imagination: Our classroom fosters imagination through arts, music, and dramatic play, helping children express themselves in meaningful ways.
Building the Foundation for Success
Preschool is more than just a steppingstone—it’s a time to lay the groundwork for success in school and life. Children who attend high-quality early learning programs are more likely to excel academically, develop strong social skills, and have a positive attitude toward learning. Our Early Learning Classroom aims to provide your child with the tools they need to thrive as they grow and continue their educational journey.
First Look
You’re a pre-schooler, and the world is bursting with newness. Each day is filled with one new discovery after another. Where did that bird come from? Look, the moon is shaped funny tonight! Who thought to color the butterfly like that?
First Look is a daily program that introduces young children to God. First Look gives children a first impression of their heavenly Father and the wonder of His love for each one of them. Children hear the same story each day using a variety of presentation methods throughout the week. They learn a bible verse (with motions) and songs during First Look.
